Forward Sam Reinhart tallied a goal and an assist to pace the Florida Panthers in a 4-3 win against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. The Panthers are now on the cusp of a sweep with Game 4 slated to be played on Saturday evening.

After the teams exchanged goals over the first 22 minutes of the contest, the Panthers offense woke up in a big way as they tallied three goals in the second period. Veteran winger Vladimir Tarasenko scored his first goal of the series off a giveaway from Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner behind the Edmonton net. It marked the fourth career Stanley Cup Final goal for Tarasenko, who also scored three goals as a member of the St. Louis Blues in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final.

Forwards Sam Bennett and Aleksander Barkov also added goals in the second period to put Florida ahead 4-1. While the lead seemed safe, the Oilers were able to put together a stellar charge to try and tie the game. Philip Broberg and Ryan McLeod scored goals as Edmonton cut the deficit to 4-3 with 5:17 to go before Florida used their defensive pressure to outlast its opponents.

The Stanley Cup Final will resume on Saturday evening in Edmonton where the Oilers will need to win in order to avoid elimination. The Oilers continued to struggle on their power-play opportunities as they are now 0-for-10 in the series after going 0-for-3 in Game 3.
